Adra’s Mission

Adra’s mission is simple: Reach Colonial Bank and get Martin McVay out. What’s in Colonial Bank: Something she didn’t want to witness.

Colonial Bank’s ship has been marked inactive for a few days now. The Secure-Team ship docked with the rogue ship after finding it the night before. Adra and a few of her people walked into the bank with the task of rescuing the owner, Martin McVay.

It was a nightmare from the first room. Blood splattered onto the walls, and body parts decorated tables and floors. A few couldn’t stomach the sight of this, being their first time. Adra tried to keep it together, but with each step, her arms shivered while trying to keep her gun in front.

Breaths were short, her heart beat louder than the footsteps crunching on glass or bone.

In McVay’s office, Martin himself lay there, unharmed, miraculously. “Don’t shoot,” he yelled.

Adra could see what looked to be a mirror image of how she felt: someone who was ready to piss themselves at the sudden drop of just about anything. She stated they were with Secure-Team and were getting him out. It was enough to get both of them moving, but Martin worried that the monster would get them.

Screams down the hall, and rifle fire pushed them out of the office and back towards the loading dock in a hurry. Their mission was to get Martin safe. A wealthy man paying for his protection, and damnit, he was getting it.

“I got the package,” she radioed in, code for their objective.

The screeching was getting louder and closer; she would drink to her people afterwards as they tried to contain whatever it was, but she needed to get him out. Upon delivery, Martin would kiss the ground inside the transport. Her waiting for any others to come back turned to regret after Martin slammed the door shut and took the shuttle right out of Colonial Bank. The bank owner wanted out; he didn’t care who was left behind.

That was it, her and if anyone was still alive with the predator that would soon come face-to-face with her. Its long tongue protrudes from its mouth full of razor-sharp teeth. Scales shone off the lights in the room and her rifle, whatever it was, she only got the chance to discover a mythical legend out in the orbital planet gossip, before it lunged and chomped her away like the rest.
