This is my second attempt with starting a writing blog. I’ve started up a blog before and was writing for about a year, but ended falling out of it in early 2020. And now I want to write in it again.

During the time I was writing on Kabo.blog, I spent most of my time writing about video games and occasionally a sprinkle of what was happening with my life at that moment. With reviving the blog and changing it to BYC Connection, I wanted to change things up on what I want to write in here. Add more variety of topics and hobbies because things have changed over the years that I would like to share with you all here.

When I was figuring out what to do with this blog, the name was something I thought needed to change. I didn’t feel connected with the idea of keeping it as Kabo.blog. Even back then when I was still writing in it, I really did not like it as the name, it was something that felt borrowed to me. I pitched the idea of using BYC Connection to my fiancé for the name, seeing if this was something she thought was a good name to use. Once I got the thumbs up from her on it, I quickly registered the domain name and got right to work with the new site.

The name “BYC Connection” comes from the first letter of our names, Brad (me), Yessica (my fiancé), and Chance (our dog), that we named for our Fantasy Football team last year. Which we won that season by the way! We rode along with that name after that Fantasy Football season, becoming a running gag with each other in the house, so it felt like a good time to keep using it. I mentioned to Yessica when thinking of naming my site, that those two (her and Chance) have been my life, and my family for so long, and that I would be writing about us. That alone was good enough of a reason for her to say go for it, and that is the name behind the blog site!

I figured this would be more of a short and sweet introduction post because throughout the time here, I’ll be filling in more posts about anything else about us. There will also be some life stories that I would like to share, some takes on fictional stories that I like to write, some poetry too that I’m starting to try, and any piece of media that I’m enjoying at that time whether it’s a book, movie or show, or a video game. I don’t think I’ll do reviews on those, but that may change as I go on with the blog site. We’ll see!

Before I close out, this is a work in progress idea on how I want to end my posts. I am thinking of ending these blog posts with a photo (or more) of our dog Chance! I see some newsletters or blogs share photos of their pets at the end, and I think that’s a really great idea to do. To answer the question that may be asked about Chance — he is a chihuahua, jack russel, pug mix, and we love him very much!
