Either Be a Pantser or Having Structure with My Blogs

I’ve been thinking about my update blog posts and how I want to structure the writing on it. Sure, I can just wing it and write off the seat of my pants and press publish, but I wonder if that was where the issue came about when I first tried blogging. Where I hit a roadblock, got frustrated, then called it quits. I would like to stray away from doing that again if I can.

I do like the idea of separating my topics I want to write about with bold header texts, but I also wonder if it takes away the personal feeling in the blog and feels more formal like a work document. My goal for the posts is for the readers to connect with me as I journey through my life, and not come off as, “In Section 1A, labeled ‘New Car’, you see…”. That’s why I wonder if I just continue being a pantser, so the readers will feel more of a personal connection when they read the posts.

By the way, for anyone that may not know, pantser is just another way of saying “Fly by the seat of their pants”.

Maybe it’s just me overthinking it too much. I mean, I haven’t made that many posts on my site that wasn’t answering the daily prompt WordPress has (I have a bone to pick with that by the way). I should probably worry about it until after months of blogging at least, then I’ll have some time and experience writing on here.

This is just a small ramble that has come across my mind whenever I look at my updates and see if this is something I want to keep doing or change now before I get too far into the weeds.

Thanks for humoring me on reading this post at least. Always feel good after writing some of my thoughts down.
