Seattle

Daily writing prompt
Do you have a favorite place you have visited? Where is it?

For my 30th birthday, my wife and I went to Seattle, Washington, for a couple of days as our vacation together. I’ve talked about visiting some of the museums and the Microsoft campus there and enjoying a little bit of life on the West Coast, as we are on the opposite side of the United States. It’s been a few years since we went there, but we enjoyed our time in Seattle and would like to go back there again soon.

When we did visit Seattle, it was right at the beginning of the pandemic, so there were some restrictions on the places we went. Unfortunately, we could not visit the Microsoft campus. But next time we go, we’ll add that and a few other things we didn’t have time to check out, like hiking up on the mountains just outside the city and finally seeing Microsoft.

I’m not one for taking photos when I’m out on vacation, but I did grab a few from the Pop Culture Museum and the Museum of Glass while we were there.

View of across the bay, looking at land.
Right across the pier, off of one of the benches we sat to enjoy the view.

When my wife was looking at the best time to visit Seattle, early August was what came up for the best weather. Clear skies, and just at the right temperature where you were not too hot, and a breeze to cool you off. I know Seattle is known for its rainy weather throughout the year, and that may be another beauty the city has to offer, but thankfully, there is some period of nothing but sun, and we took full advantage of that.

Hopefully, we have the time to go again. I had a blast when we went.
