I decided to create an account on Substack and will focus my fictional writing there from now on. You can follow me here!

There’s no specific reason for creating a Substack. After checking out a few people I know who have it, I stumbled around on the site and decided to join the fun. I haven’t done much on there yet; I only threw in a microfiction story I posted here before, and that’s about it. I’m not much of a social media person when it comes to posting and communicating, as I’m sure my track record of interacting with other blogs can tell. But it’s something new, and we’ll see how it goes.

What’s funny is hours after creating a Substack account, I checked on Mastodon to see posts about the platform. And did I feel like I made a mistake. Talk about them loathing Substack. It made me feel like I joined the worst group out there with how they talked about it. Where all the hate groups gather around and spew their nonsense, while I just thought of it as a platform to share some of my fictional work. They’re probably the vocal minority of the consensus of Substack; it was more of an eye opener than anything.

I won’t be leaving WordPress or this blog. I still have two years left on the subscription, so I’ll be getting my use out of WordPress until the time is up; then, we’ll see what I decide after that. The goal I made for myself for my writing is to keep the lights on here. Where I produce enough funds that I don’t need to pay out of pocket to keep the blog around; it just pays for itself. So, this will stay; I just added another spot that I don’t need to write somewhere, is all.

Oh… Bloganuary did not go as planned. It was a good run for four to five days, but I lost it when thinking of ideas to write about. If next year, they come with brand new prompts, I’ll be all over it.
