What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.
This question gets brought up whenever someone asks me a computer question because I work in the IT department. And I mean from people outside my job, friends, family, etc. Sure, I know some things about computers, just as much as anyone else, but I work in the software development side in the IT department as a web developer, and 95% of the questions I get are not asking, “How do I bold this text in HTML?”

Hell, my wife still asks me computer questions, even though she knows that I sometimes know just as much as she does. I will tell her that and get a response like, “What the hell, I thought you worked in IT?!” Throwing a little jab at me for not knowing why her laptop’s webcam isn’t turning on at that moment.
But I don’t know that much about computers anymore. If something happens to my laptop or I’m having trouble connecting my dock to a monitor, I’ll be there with you, asking the actual IT people who know what the problem is. Software development is all I really know about.
So, if your printer isn’t working or your laptop is making a funny noise, don’t call me.
