A farewell letter to a best friend.
To my best friend,
It has been an honor to spend my life with you.
Since I was young, you have welcomed me into your home. You have watched me grow, and I have watched you become your better self. Our life was perfect.
But the years have done a number on me; my legs have eventually stopped working, and you counted the gray hairs all over my face. Still, you loved me no matter what.
My time is up, and I will always cherish what we had together, for the rainbow bridge is calling my name.
Love,
Your companion
Pets get old, it’s the way of life. And that’s the mood it has been at home.
We got our dog back in 2016, and in March, he’ll be hitting double digits. While he can be a spry dog, his age is starting to show. Less movement, resting more, you can’t help but think that the time may be here sooner than you expected.
