The Challenges Going Into 2024

Daily writing prompt
What are your biggest challenges?

Going into the new year, one of the challenges, that spreads out into a few things for me, is to keep up what I was doing last year. There have been a few positive changes in my life that I started last year, so the challenge for me is to keep it up for this year too. I have some new challenges too that I would like to either start back up again, or be trying for the first time, so it’s not all just continuations from last year.

Continue To Write

From December 2022, until now, I’ve been writing almost daily. Whether it was writing in my journal, writing a story that I’d only see, or as of lately, writing in my blog here. I want to continue that trend and keep writing for this year, and the next, and so on. When my laptop died last week and I was out of one for a few days, I still kept writing daily in my journals because writing has been a part of my life that now it just seems weird to not do anymore.

A new challenge for me though with my writing is to get my work published. Not with publishing here on my blog site, but on a website or a book that collects short stories or essays. The goal is to get my name out there and write for both myself, and for others.

Last year, I set a goal for myself to read at least five books for the year. I surpassed that goal of five books and ended up reading a total of forty-two books. This year for me is the same, to keep reading more books throughout the time.

Keep Up the Healthy Eating Habits and Some

In October, Yessica saw just how bad we were eating and decided that we needed to change that right away. There weren’t any complaints from me because I knew it was true, we have been eating poorly, and the weight I gained over the time was enough to tell.

From then on, we started to swap our previous meals out with healthier alternatives and added a salad to those meals. Let me tell you, after a month of getting rid of the food we used to eat all the time and replacing it with salads, we both started to feel a lot healthier. The bloated feeling after a meal went away and we were seeing results with our health too. It has been a positive outcome on it all, and great hearing it from other people too about our change in eating.

I just want to continue that habit for this year too. Take care of my body and eat healthy, because of the positive impact it has made for me so far.

I also want to start running again too. It’s been almost a year since I last went for a run, and I keep telling myself how I want to go outside again and just do it. With eating healthier, I figured the motivation would be there, but I haven’t found it yet. So, my goal is to start it back up again. Even if it’s for a few months, I just want to find the push to exercise again.

Start a Challenge and Follow Through

Almost every challenge, I get really invested in it, only to drop out about halfway through it. For the WordPress Bloganuary, this post here is for today’s prompt because I’d like to see if I can post for all days for the month of January. If I can get through that, I’d be impressed with myself…really. That I could take a month-long challenge and see it to the very end.

To Finish it Off

Hope everyone can accomplish the challenges that they have set for themselves!
