Finishing a Story

Daily writing prompt
What is the biggest challenge you will face in the next six months?

One problem I have is my short attention to any writing that I am doing. I’ll focus on writing it out but eventually would want to write something else, leaving the previous story half-baked. This year, I want to focus more on seeing the pieces of work that I’m doing to the very end. Even if I look back at that story and think it wasn’t one of my most enjoyable stories to write. I can at least say that I have written a story to the very end.

I currently have two novel ideas in their early first draft. One may be more of a novella-sized story, but the other will be a longer piece. Then there’s the short story the local writer’s group is doing for their anthology collection, and I would like to contribute a story to it. I have an idea for the anthology; I will need to reach out to let them know I’m interested first.

This year has been writing-heavy goals for myself. But I want to take it more seriously, so it’s only fair to set goals for myself and see what’s doable.

One response to “Finishing a Story”

  1. I recommend you just write quickly without stopping, forget about Grammer and any spelling mistakes. Just story the freedom of flowing until finished. Copy the whole story go and use the Free Grammarly tools for correcting. Then just publish when corrected
