One problem I have is my short attention to any writing that I am doing. I’ll focus on writing it out but eventually would want to write something else, leaving the previous story half-baked. This year, I want to focus more on seeing the pieces of work that I’m doing to the very end. Even if I look back at that story and think it wasn’t one of my most enjoyable stories to write. I can at least say that I have written a story to the very end.
I currently have two novel ideas in their early first draft. One may be more of a novella-sized story, but the other will be a longer piece. Then there’s the short story the local writer’s group is doing for their anthology collection, and I would like to contribute a story to it. I have an idea for the anthology; I will need to reach out to let them know I’m interested first.
This year has been writing-heavy goals for myself. But I want to take it more seriously, so it’s only fair to set goals for myself and see what’s doable.
