You get to build your perfect space for reading and writing. What’s it like?

Today’s answer will be short and sweet for what I would like in a room for reading and writing.

For writing specifically, I want to have a big, long-sized desk. Large enough to fit my laptop and monitor that I would dock my laptop to for a bigger screen. Suppose I pick a desk on looks, an oak top finish to give it that good, clean look. All this with a great back-supporting office chair, enough to handle hours of sitting. The comfier, the better.

In the room, I’d also like to have a long couch to lounge on and spend most of my time reading, or I can bring my laptop over for a lazy writing session. I currently have not-so-great couches, so anything new is an instant upgrade in comfort and support.

Decorations would be posters that are motivational quotes from authors or, in general. I would also include my written work, framed up on the wall. A reminder of how far I have come and why I enjoy doing what I do.

Let’s not forget the bookshelf. I prefer the kind that sits on your wall, filled with everything I plan on reading and showcasing any books I have written.

And finally, a big window with a nice view. While it can be distracting, it also would keep me from feeling isolated and closed in. Plus, the natural light and fresh air can do you some good. I don’t prefer to live in a city, so it’d definitely be fresh air.

For details on flooring and the color of the room, I’m not getting into that. I wanted to point out what items and must-haves I’d like if I got a room like that.
